my world’s on fire, how ‘bout yours?

welcome to the malamiko industrial complex newsletter volume one. glad to have you here! to be honest, as much as i’ve wanted to start a newsletter for years, i don’t exactly know what each newsletter will look like or how often this content farm will ship out. i’m sure we’ll get the hang of it by volume twenty-nine so stay tuned for that. in the meantime, we’ll be sharing some updates, trade secrets, and various thoughts tangentially related to the malamiko industrial complex (m.i.c.).

with all that out of the way: jesus christ i genuinely cannot keep up with all the awful things happening in the world and every moment i stare at my phone i can feel the lifeblood draining from my soul. i used to enjoy the garbage fires, but now it just hurts my eyes. i don’t feel like dwelling on this for very long, but i will say a few things: this band has been a vessel for the three of us to connect with so many wonderful people and it has also been a healthy outlet for us to explore our emotions, frustrations, fears, and losses. i am eternally grateful for that. i will not pretend like the power of music will lift us out of fascist dystopia, but it uplifts me in my daily life and that’s about all i can ask for at this time.

we spent some time over these past few months recording some singles for a couple compilations that will be out later this year that we are all very excited about. we’ve also been trying to limit our amount of local shows for the first half of the year so we can actually spend some time writing some more new material and preparing for a spring tour.

extra things:

-we have new merch coming including a final run of tapes, new shirts, and new stickers.

-daisy is featured on the latest bumpy label release GUITAR BAND

-our radio k session is out if you want to see us play and hear us yap.
