everybody's trying to do small town shit

hello — welcome back to the malamiko industrial complex newsletter (volume 6). we are so happy you are here.

malamiko sitting in a stairwell looking generally unamused.

what’s new: Tern & Crow’s 5 Years of Whatever vinyl compilation is in stock! We have a handful to sell at shows for around $20 if you want to avoid the shipping. If you haven’t heard the song yet, we put out a lyric video on youtube (dot com) — v “broadcast yourself” era.

we successfully managed to play a house show! somehow the pink place show went off without issue... we were really unsure whether or not it was going to happen due to city and management b.s. The rain even held off until after the 10pm noise curfew (although having to load out gear in the pouring rain was stressful, it was much better than getting rained out mid show) and the lightning in the background during anita velveeta’s set was ethereal.

a picture of pink place with the words DESTROYED over it... it's a guilty gear reference....

what’s up: we are in the early stages of working on our follow up record — initial demos for about a half-a-record’s worth of material were tracked last weekend. We don’t have any sort of timeline worked out, but we have committed to a new album, talked to an artist about doing artwork, and have had quite a burst of creative energy lately. We are all very excited to start sharing these songs with you at shows as we sculpt these ideas into a full length record in the coming months.

what else: rhys played his first live show with his solo project dream colors last month and is currently finishing up the debut LP. daisy is writing music for a multi-media performance art piece planned to premiere mid-2026 (it has been a few years since i’ve released any “solo” music, so i’m excited to get back into the swing of things).

see you soon <3
